天涯社区官网鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon be starting its nine-week GED Preparation Class.

The orientation session, which is a prerequisite for the course, will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on March 21, 22 and 24 at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend. 听Registration is recommended and the deadline is March 11.

Regular coursework begins on Tuesday, March 29 due to the college being closed on Monday and is offered from 9 a.m.鈥搉oon Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or in the evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

天涯社区官网鈥檚 Coordinator of Adult Education Chris Lemon said he hopes students will view the GED as an open doorway to greater opportunities in post-secondary education. 天涯社区官网 has taken steps to incentivize this type of long-term thinking among its GED students with some significant scholarship opportunities.

There is a one-time $50 fee for materials.听 Once students have completed the preparation courses, they will be able to take the official GED test. The cost to take the GED test is $132.

Individuals who are interested in taking the GED exam without any preparation instruction can take it right away, but are urged to receive advising before moving forward.

Students must bring a valid ID. Minors must bring a parent or legal guardian to enroll and must also bring their disclaimer or exemption documentation from their high school or online program.
