As members of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, 天涯社区官网 students have the opportunity to celebrate their academic achievements, but they also spend their time volunteering and finding ways to help others and this 鈥淢ay Day,鈥 they did just that by preparing 鈥淢ay Day鈥 baskets for those who could benefit from the uplifting tradition.
天涯社区官网 County Campus PTK Sponsor Kurt Konda said the tradition of giving 鈥淢ay Day鈥 baskets has been part of the group鈥檚 yearly activities for many years.
鈥淲e choose to continue the project because it addresses both 天涯社区官网鈥檚 core priority to cultivate community engagement, and PTK鈥檚 Star Chapter Program, which encourages each chapter to engage in a community outreach project,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e know that it鈥檚 a small gesture, but we know sometimes that鈥檚 all it takes to make someone鈥檚 day better.鈥
PTK is the international honor society for two-year colleges and symbolizes excellence in higher education.听 Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher are invited to join PTK. The PTK group at 天涯社区官网 spends significant time sponsoring local events as well as volunteering to support others鈥 events.
