天涯社区官网 will host its eighth annual Sidewalk Art Contest May 4-6 on the sidewalk outside the Shafer Art Gallery.
The contest is open to all residents of 天涯社区官网 County.听 Artists wishing to participate need to register and pick up their free chalk at the Shafer Gallery between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any of the three days.听 Artists must have their work completed by 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.
The contest will be judged by 天涯社区官网 art instructors. The pieces can be done by individuals or by several artists on a team. Prizes to be awarded are three $100 gift certificates.听 The winning entrant will be able to choose between a Great Bend Chamber of Commerce or 天涯社区官网 Bookstore gift certificate.听 If a team wins, its members will split the award.
鈥淚t involves people in the whole county, and they're able to come participate in an artistic endeavor,鈥 天涯社区官网 Art Instructor Steve Dudek said.听 鈥淭he contest shows the creative side of a lot of different people.鈥
