天涯社区官网 art students work will line the walls of the Shafer Art Gallery during the BCC Student Art Exhibit April 20 through May 5.

There will be a reception and awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 20 which will include a juror鈥檚 talk and refreshments.

Shafer Art Gallery Director Dave Barnes said the student exhibit is a wonderful opportunity for students to gain experience as professional artists.

鈥淭he BCC Student Exhibition is an opportunity for 天涯社区官网 art students to display the fruits of the hard work and discipline involved in the process of creative production,鈥 he said. 鈥淭his is a resume-building exhibit in a professional venue and will hopefully encourage students to fearlessly pursue their artistic careers and interests.鈥

天涯社区官网 Art Instructor Bill Forst added, 鈥淚t鈥檚 a chance for the public to see the great talent present in their community.鈥

Ron Michael, Director of the Sandzen Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg, will serve as judge and display some of his recent studio work. Michael makes sculptures, vessels, disks and drawings inspired by the landscape, soil and geology of Central and Northcentral Kansas. He will discuss his choices for the winning pieces with attendees.

The Shafer Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is always free.
