The 天涯社区官网 library will host 鈥淟ibrarypalooza鈥 from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25 in the 天涯社区官网 Library.听
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet library staff, try out iPad minis and more at the 鈥淭echnology Petting Zoo鈥 and learn about library resources, services and recent additions.听

Each year, the 天涯社区官网 faculty and staff get to strut their artistic talents in the Shafer Art Gallery鈥檚 鈥淔aculty-Staff-Friends-Acquaintances-and-Some-Folks-We-Hardly-Know鈥 exhibit like professional artists, complete with a full-blown reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 22.听 The show will also include exhibits from Esther Maher, which will feature a variety of prints, paintings and ceramics, and Valery Shilaev, which will include paintings focusing on nautical-themed pieces.

Usually the 天涯社区官网 Foundation chooses an individual or family to honor with the Old Bill Honorarium. This year the Foundation Board wanted to honor the business community in Great Bend by choosing to honor the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce.

The 天涯社区官网 Theatre Department will host open auditions for their upcoming fall production 鈥淪teel Magnolias,鈥 by Robert Harling at 5:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, August 25 and 26 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

天涯社区官网鈥檚 Workforce Training and Economic Development department will host the 鈥淎ll About Careers!鈥 event from 9:15 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, September 24 to showcase the college鈥檚 workforce training programs. Superintendents, principals, counselors, prospective students and parents are welcome to attend.听 Lunch will be served from 11:30 鈥 noon during a Q-and-A session at the end of the event.听 There is no cost to attend.

天涯社区官网鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon be starting its 9-week GED Preparation Class.
The orientation session, which is a prerequisite for the course, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 4-8 at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend. Those interested can call ahead or arrive on the first day of orientation.
