天涯社区官网 needs volunteers for its annual Field Operations Day on May 5. Volunteers participate as patients or bystanders in realistic training scenarios for 天涯社区官网 EMS, Criminal Justice, Nursing and Medical Assistant students. The EMS department is asking for volunteers to sign up by April 20. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and encouraged; lunch will be provided. Those interested in signing up can visit .

High school students from Ellinwood, Great Bend, Stafford, Larned and Hoisington came to 天涯社区官网 to engage in hands-on workshops from art professionals and participate in a juried art exhibit Wednesday.

Vortex Day is sponsored by the 天涯社区官网 County Arts Council (BCAC) and is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Endowment/Golden Belt Foundation.

Dance enthusiasts can take the opportunity to gain valuable experience as a dancer in a company setting. 天涯社区官网 is hosting auditions for its dance company, 天涯社区官网 Dance Theater, from 10-11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 14 in Studio 34, located in the Sunflower housing units on 天涯社区官网鈥檚 campus. Check in is at 9:30 a.m.

天涯社区官网 will offer a grant-funded two-week certificate program at no cost to transitioning Fort Carson Soldiers and family members with Department of Defense ID cards.

The Hazardous Waste Worker (HWW) program gives Soldiers credentials to help them find work after their tenure in the US Army ends. The next course is set from May 7-18 at Truman Education Center B3281 on post.

The 天涯社区官网 Music Department will host the Mid-America Woodwind Quintet at 7:30 p.m. April 15 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel located in 天涯社区官网鈥檚 Fine Arts Building. This outstanding quintet is composed of a flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon and French horn. The recital is free and open to the public.

The drought hasn鈥檛 lessened with the area in extreme drought and the outlook isn鈥檛 promising.听 As if that wasn鈥檛 enough to worry about, the area has experienced well below freezing air temperatures (the low 20s) for an extended period of time twice in the last week which while not rare is certainly uncommon for the first week of April.听 So what does this mean for the 2018 wheat crop?听 As is almost always the case, there isn鈥檛 a cut and dry answer.

天涯社区官网鈥檚 Community Service Organization and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will host a 5K walk/run 8 a.m. Sunday, April 29. Registration will be at 7:30 a.m. in the Fine Arts circle drive at 天涯社区官网. All proceeds will be donated to Camp Hope.

The course begins and ends at 天涯社区官网. There will be two groups: 16 and over and 15 and under. The top three finishers in each group will be awarded immediately following the race.
