A 听Workers鈥 Compensation Symposium hosted by WorkFit, is set for 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in the Plaza De Cavanaugh Room (L116) in the Learning Resource Center at 天涯社区官网. The event is free of charge, including lunch. Reservation deadline is Sept. 18. Contact Krystall Barnes at (620) 786-7575 or barnesk@bartonccc.edu to reserve a spot or for more information. The symposium will outline the benefits and return on investment of using WorkFit to test employees.

天涯社区官网鈥檚 administration has aligned with the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees in support of continuing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program through the legislative process.

The 天涯社区官网 administration agrees with the ACCT鈥檚 statement that, 鈥淭erminating DACA undercuts our efforts to serve this population by creating additional barriers to postsecondary access.鈥

天涯社区官网鈥檚 ninth-annual Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble, which benefits wounded soldiers from Fort Riley, is set for Saturday, Sept. 23. The deadline to register is Sept. 15.

The Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble is an opportunity to support our Soldiers and thank them for their dedicated service to our country.

Shotgun start is set for 9:30 a.m. at the Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Junction City. Standard four-man golf scramble rules apply.

Funds from the Thelma Faye Harms Trust have made possible a lab dedicated to employee training and professional development at 天涯社区官网. It will also allow for third parties to host seminars through the Workforce Training and Community Education Division.

The proceeds from items sold, underwriters, program ads and ticket sales netted $40,000 at the 39th Annual Big Benefit Auction in late August. These funds benefit students directly through scholarships and program enhancements at 天涯社区官网.

Executive Director of Institutional Advancement Coleen Cape said she feels fortunate to have reached the foundation's goal.

In this past Thursday鈥檚 Tribune on the opinion page there was a column by Veronica Coons.听 The column mentioned a firm was expanding into Hoisington and the head of the firm, which has multiple locations, was lamenting the lack of quality workers.听 He spoke to a lack of what society terms 鈥渟oft skills鈥 or skills in addition to those unique for a given profession.听 Items such as punctuality, responsibility, dedication, and so on.听

A life spent in pursuit of what is right and good despite personal sacrifice is a rarity, and is a life to be celebrated and remembered.

The late Jerry Schrader embodied that existence as a veterinarian caring for animals and as an advocate for his community. He played a key role in founding 天涯社区官网 and was one of the first to serve on its Board of Trustees and eventually taught some science classes.

The weather recently provided moisture and more moderate temperatures.听 Good for finishing off summer row crops, except needing heat to move corn and milo to the finish line, and for those looking forward to planting the 2018 wheat crop in a few weeks.听 There is one added benefit that many may over look 鈥 controlling the green bridge.
