Kami Maxwell of Odin and Ambonirina Nathanael Razafindrabe of Antananarvio, Madagascar were named ������������’s 2015 Outstanding Graduates.�� Dean of Student Services Angie Maddy introduced them and presented their awards, after which they took the opportunity to address their fellow graduates during the college’s 45th commencement ceremony Friday.

The ������������ Foundation honored Brad and Sarah Shirer with the 2015 Distinguished Service Award during ������������’s 45th commencement on Friday.������

The Distinguished Service Award was created in 1981 by the ������������ Foundation to recognize individuals who have shown genuine regard for, and have performed outstanding service to ������������. The ������������ Foundation Board of Directors selects the recipient from nominations received.

������������ recognizes 2014-2015 Student Ambassadors of the Year

������������ has announced its 2014-15 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassador of the Year awards.�� Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding student ambassadors each year.�� The winners this year were Jordan Tebow of Quinter and Kami Maxwell of Odin.��

������������ has announced the winners of its Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest.�� The winners are as follows: Abby Petz and Andrea Klepper, Taylor Pennington, and Marcus Pastran. ��Each individual winner received a $100 gift certificate and the collaborative pair will split the winnings.����

About 100 Kansas high school students flocked to ������������ to get hands-on experience from ������������’s art professionals and participate in a juried art exhibit on Thursday.

������������ Art Instructor Steve Dudek and Piano Instructor Karole Erikson had their work accepted into the 46^th Annual Smoky Hill Art Exhibition.

Erikson’s photo “Down by the River” and Dudek’s painting “Golden Koi” were both accepted.�� There were about 200 works submitted and 62 were selected for exhibition.

The exhibit will be at the Hays Arts Council Gallery 112 E. 11^th St. in Hays and will be on display through June.��

������������’s 45^th commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the ������������ Gymnasium.��

After brief comments from administrators, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mike Johnson will confer the degrees. Vice President Dr. Penny Quinn will present the graduates and College Trustees will award the diplomas.�� ������������ will also recognize two outstanding graduates who will also address the crowd.�� Quinn will also recognize ������������'s Distinguished Instructor Awards.
