天涯社区官网 has announced the winners of its Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest.听 The winners are as follows: Adreinne Danner, Natalie Espino and Fernando Rojas. 听Each winner received a $50 Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development gift certificate.

天涯社区官网鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon be starting its nine-week GED Preparation Class. The orientation day, which is a prerequisite for the course, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on May 23 at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend. 听

The class sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday from May 24 through June 16.

The 天涯社区官网 Theatre Program will have a new leader at the helm. Former Dean of Academics Dr. Rick Abel is now the Theatre Program Director and Instructor. Abel has a strong background and passion for the arts and theatre is an area about which he is especially passionate.

Retired Sgt. Jenise Hiram grew up in an environment of alcoholism, crime and violence in The Bronx, New York. In terms of life trajectories, hers did not begin with a high likelihood of a bright future. Thursday, however, she proved origins and situations can be overcome.

鈥淚鈥檓 supposed to be a statistic,鈥 she told graduates of the Fort Riley Education Consortium schools Thursday afternoon during the consortium鈥檚 commencement ceremony. 鈥淏ut I鈥檓 here. It鈥檚 a change in mindset we all made.鈥

天涯社区官网 has announced its 2015-16 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassador of the Year awards.听 Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding student ambassadors each year.听 The winners this year were Presley Smith of Hoisington and Erik Hageman of Abilene.

Audree Aguilera of Chase and Riley Chrisler of Natoma were named 天涯社区官网鈥檚 2016 Outstanding Graduates.听 Dean of Student Services Angie Maddy introduced them and presented their awards, after which they took the opportunity to address their fellow graduates during the college鈥檚 46th commencement ceremony Friday.

天涯社区官网 Director of Admissions Tana Cooper (right) presents a check for $1,060 to Gail Moeder with Camp Hope in the 天涯社区官网 Library on Monday. The money was raised by having 鈥淕oing Casual for Camp Hope鈥 days where faculty and staff could wear jeans for $5. 听The campaign ran from October through April. Various faculty and staff departments coordinated and participated in the event and they plan to hold the event again next year.听
