The 天涯社区官网 Performing Arts Department will host 鈥淪cholarship Day鈥 auditions on Thursday, Feb. 11.听 Current or prospective students may contact the Music Department to set up a time to audition for music or theatre scholarships or performance awards.听 Awards are available for performing arts majors and non-performing arts majors alike.

The 天涯社区官网 Planetarium will feature movies utilizing the full-dome projection system throughout the spring semester.听 The Planetarium is located in the Science Building. Enter through the sliding doors on the north side.听 Admission is free.
Each movie will be followed by a live presentation by 天涯社区官网鈥檚 Planetarium Director Dr. Tim Folkerts. The presentations will feature a tour of the night sky, hands-on activities or actual outdoor stargazing.听听

While it鈥檚 too early to set in stone, it is certainly shaping up as a financially challenging year for crop and livestock producers.听 Crop prices, input costs, sluggish economies around the world, and many other factors will test the patience and skill of producers.听 This isn鈥檛 to imply input prices haven鈥檛 fallen but overall they haven鈥檛 fallen nearly as much as most crop prices. 听听
The Welding Lab is full of state of the art equipment thanks to the generosity and cooperation of 天涯社区官网鈥檚 industry partners and donors to the 天涯社区官网 Foundation. 天涯社区官网鈥檚 industry-recognized welding certificate program began being offered in its entirety this semester.听

天涯社区官网 will host a 鈥渃ome and go鈥 open house and reception to showcase its new Adult Healthcare Simulation Lab Feb. 2 from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Technical Building, room T-119. A presentation is scheduled at 3 p.m. to recognize the longstanding partnership with St. Rose Health Center and to thank them for equipment and supply donations.听

天涯社区官网 will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 18.听 天涯社区官网's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery also will be closed.听 Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

天涯社区官网 History Instructor Linda McCaffery will teach a course via 天涯社区官网鈥檚 Silver Cougar Club titled 鈥淎ge of Enlightenment,鈥 1:30-3:30 p.m. each Tuesday from Jan. 26 through April 5 in room F-129 of the Fine Arts Building.
The class will cover the splendor and paranoia of Louis XVI, the American and French Revolutions and the dictatorship of Napoleon. During this period, Spain crumbles and England rises to status as a world power, while the fledgling American Republic struggles to survive.听听
