The 天涯社区官网 Library will hold an art contest to determine the artwork for seven Cohen Center for Kansas History (CCKH) trivia pamphlets.听 Submissions can be done in any medium and must be postmarked by Nov. 10.听 Contest is open to all students, 天涯社区官网 employees and community members.听 Multiple entries are accepted.听

天涯社区官网鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon be starting its 9-week GED Preparation Class.
The orientation session, which is a prerequisite for the course, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 13-17 at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend. Those interested can call ahead or arrive on the first day of orientation.

The 天涯社区官网 Debate and Forensics team performed well in its first tournament of the year at the 鈥淒ebates on a Plain鈥 tournament at Hutchinson Community College September 26-28.
Sophomore Chase Pumford of Great Bend tied for third place in International Public Debate Association (IDPA) Debate and placed third out of 21 speakers in National Forensic Association Lincoln Douglas (NFA-LD) Debate.听
Freshman Rachel Schloctermeier of Ellinwood placed fourth out of 21 in NFA-LD Debate.听

The 天涯社区官网 Visual and Performing Arts Department will host its annual Sneak Preview Concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
The event will feature performances by the Hilltop Singers, Concert Choir, Jazz Band and Prairie Winds Concert Band.

天涯社区官网 sophomore theatre major Joy Conner used to be shy.听 Thanks to her involvement with theatre, her shyness is a thing of the past.听 She鈥檒l be portraying the role of Truvy Jones in the 天涯社区官网 Theatre production of 鈥淪teel Magnolias,鈥 a role made famous by Dolly Parton in the Hollywood movie.听 天涯社区官网 Theatre will present the play at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25-27 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

天涯社区官网 will offer a web design course from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays Oct. 28 鈥 Nov. 13 in the Technical Building, room T-117.
In this course, students will learn how to create, update, design and maintain a website.听 Other topics will include making a website work, tools and software needed, editing web pages, saving html web pages, design and layout fundamentals, creating images, tables and forms and general website maintenance.

天涯社区官网 will offer an iPad and iPhone training course 6:30-8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays Oct. 20 - Nov. 12 in the Technical Building, room T-115.
This course will cover beginner and intermediate iPad and iPhone appli颅cations and features including social media use, podcasts, taking and sharing photos and more. The focus will then shift to advanced apps.听 The class is designed for teachers, students, business owners, employees and IT support staff.
